The college was established in 1964 on the death anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the Prime Minister of India. With the efforts of late Hari Prasad Mahto, the villagers of Kheshmi and late Bandhu Mahto of Mathadih and others donated the land on which the college building issituated. From the very beginning, our mission has been ambitious yet simple: bring quality university education to deserving students—especially from socially, economically backward, and underprivileged communities in this region of Jharkhand. Over the decades, that mission has guided everything we do.
